  1. Playing hooky on Monday July 1

Did the 360 round trip mile trip to the hook wasn't worth it the fish are scattered took all day to scratch a limit worth keeping. Cranks and btm bounced One fish over 20 no other big ones. Wish I could of had more time to find the big ones the keepers we got we're in that 15fow the toss backs we're deeper anywhere from 17 to 30. The high water you-all have is now a determent imo. I fish ultra shallow without success.

  2. Devils Lake the bite that never stops

Again - another weekend in the books and a bite that never stops. This weekend we were in 20ft of water. We ran cranks and bottom bouncers. I did a little carolina riggin and jigrap. Didnt really matter what you did they bit on anything. Size - we had a 19, 16, 15 and assorted 14s and a few 13 1/2 inchers in the well -- however a lot of sorting to get those 14 and above fish--- it felt like we caught as many fish as the temp was as high on sat. The white bass were crazy too couldnt keep them off the cranks. I seen a 100 toyotas, nissans with MN plates - they were fishing shallow - ...

  3. Parshall

We made the day trip from camp on dl to "da big" lake. Left at 6 I don't remember what time we got on water. Sunny no wind some bugs (no where near as miserable dl would of been for bugs). Teresa picked up a 20 right away and then a few 15inchers then it slowed. If the wind rippled back up then we would pick up some more. Ended the afternoon with a fill but it took a while. She remained in dl style gold spinner. I went sak style green bigger smiles. she lost one at the boat that looked 25. We forget how the fish fight so much harder then the lazy dl ones. Variety of fish 14 to ...

  4. Dl

So much for a video report. Anyway fish are all over. We still fished shallow pitching plastics in weeds or dragging gold bottom bouncers though 7-12fow. Within sight the winner of the tourney was slip bobbering 30fow water and also within site 100 or so mn residents helping us with white bass population. Nice day on the water. The white bass we're on a tear. Don't put your finger in the water as they bit mine. Less than 7fow is where the Whitey's we're. Good fishing see u on the water.

  5. Pelican aka gatorville

Gators.were.out full force on Sunday. Had a hard time trying to fish for walleye. They liked white minnow like plastic with a paddle tail (not sure on name). My kids had fun. Lots of boats in pelly. Water is clear (clear for pelly). If your fishing north of the tracks go to the east to get over them. We floated across several times in different spots without issue but did see a guy get hung up.

Somebody told me 100 rigs at dry on one day over the weekend.

  8. DL

I haven't been real good at fishing reports. Besides weather - fishing has been good all spring and summer on DL.

Now is the time if you have kids or family that like constant bites to hit the big lake. Main lake structure or not the fish are biting. No real size and you have to work to get the decent size eaters - but your kids are going to catch fish and lots of them. Spinners, bobbers or just park and jig or plain hook it with half of nitecrawler or leech. Old shoreline, flats I don't think it matters.

    Good fishin short

Nothing really changed. Jig rap bridges and pull spinners or cranks. Golf or flickers. The bite isn't the 75 per day like summer but if you put your time in you will succeed. Fow varied from 15 to 35

  10. Fished a stretch of water next to a legend up at Devils Lake area this past weekend

I got a little close and he yelled over at me. Anyway --- both days windy kinda wore on a person weather. Nothing to brag about Saturday. Ahab (legend) was up jigging while we were pulling spinners. Areas we wanted to fish were blown out. Sunday we hit a couple bridges on DL proper --- the wife had a doozy on brought it up to the boat she had the drag all the way back and was thumbing (I don't even know how she reeled the thing up - but whatever she thumbed it to hard and the damn thing broke the line) She could see it clearly and that made it worse -nice eyeball - I have no idea how ...

  11. DL area

We have been making the trip every other week. The fishing remains steady -- not fast and furious like a month earlier this summer --- but if you want to put some fish in da boat they will bite. FOW 10-40 depends on spot. We have been working road beds primarily. We keep using nightcrawlers spinner; however we doing some jippin rap, cranks too. Spinners were more consistent and I don't grimace as much when I loose a spinner on a snag vs a overpriced rap.
