  1. Sak - Steinke Bay

Fished Saturday 4/17 out of Steinke. So first of all NDGF has done a good job cleaning out the ramp and the area around it, all the silt is pushed back - easy to load/unload. Got on the water about Noon...there were 6 to 7 trailers at the ramp. Started out fishing west side of Steinke, targeted 8 to 12 fow...spot lock...cast up to shore. Switched between minnows and plastics. Water temps were between 38-42...bites were very soft...had to really pay attention...not easy on a windy day! Only caught 1 24 inch fat female and a pike. I did run over to the embankment and fish the pump house area but ...

  2. Audubon 12/4

Fished Audubon (Turtle Lake Ramp area) Fri 11/27 and 12/4. Last week ice was a solid 6 inches, yesterday...surprisingly...the ice in the same location was 7 inches solid. Fished 14 to 18 fow caught lot's of walleye and perch...few keepers. It was just great to scratch that itch and get out on some ice. As always, if you head out for early ice, don't go alone, use a spud bar, wear a life jacket, and take your time. Fish on...

  3. Sak - East End/Mallard

Put in at Wolf Creek Sunday morning-ran around to north side of Mallard. Pitched jigs and plastics early then switched over to cranks...and the fun began! Pulled #9 Flickers in 16 to 24 fow...tried to stay between 1.8 and 2.2 mph. Ended up catching 6 walleye, 3 smallies, and 1 pike. Biggest walleye was 23.5 inches...back in the drink...couple small guys as well. Kept 3 between 17 and 19...water temps were 68 to 72 degrees. All in all not a bad day...have a great week folks!

  4. Audubon 4/22 & 4/24

Fished Audubon yesterday afternoon. Launched at the 3 Mile ramp...dock not in yet, just beached the boat. Corp has not started moving any water into Audubon yet, so easy to beach next to dock. There is still a large ice sheet on the main lake...past car body, guessing it will be a few more days before the entire lake is ice free. I fished the bays to the NE of 3 Mile...they are completely ice free. Marked lot's of fish in 4-7 fow of water, did not mark a single fish deeper than 15 fow. Used minnows and plastics, had 2 or 3 light bites...no takers. Think right now the fish more interested in reproducing ...

  5. Deepwater 2/8

Couple buddies and I fished Deepwater Saturday 2/8...hit the ice in the morning-fished all day. Ice was a good 20 to 25 inches throughout the bay...no issues driving trucks most places. There is a large pressure ridge at the mouth of the bay, we looked for a place to cross at the south end-did not feel it was safe to cross with the wheelers. Fishing was slow-targeted 24 to 30 fow...caught a few cats in the morning, one 20 inch keeper walleye at mid day. The afternoon/early evening bite was slow as well, we caught a few dinks and one additional keeper. Weather nice for early Feb...be safe out there ...

  6. Audubon - Turtle Lake Ramp Area 12/23

Drilled holes in 13 to 20 fow...ice was 15 inches. Half tons and ice castles out in that bay...I walked out...good exercise pulling an 80 pound flipover! Got out about 2:30...off the ice at 6PM. Only caught 1 pike...33inch and 1 walleye...22 inch female...both fish released. Nice afternoon actually...about 25 degrees-didn't even set the house up just ran the heater to warm up my hands. Merry Christmas all...God bless you and yours!

  10. Sak - New Town

Buddy and I ran to New Town Friday 9/27...put in at the casino. Ran down to Hunts Along Bay...pulled spinners with crawlers and artificials...first found fish 18-22 fow later more shallow. Caught a lot of dinks...bigger fish maybe deeper? Buddy caught 2 nice fish with snap jigs. Water temps still 62-63...which surprised me. Not a bad day...for late September...hoping we get a nice warm up in October!

Pulled flicker minnows and shads in 15 to 22 fow...ending up catching 8 eyes...3 keepers 20-22 inches...got off the water about 1 when the party toons and jet skis inundated the entire south side...but man nice day!

  12. Deepwater - Father's Day

Buddy and I fished Deepwater Bay area this morning. Put in at 0730-ran out toward the mouth of the bay...fished a couple spots along the north shore to counter the ever present NoDak wind. Water temps out there only 56...decided to go further back in the bay. Found a north shore bay that had water temps at 61-62. Marked fish in 8 to 20 fow. Jigged with leeches and plastics and jigging raps and ripping raps. Buddy caught 2 nice fish on snap jig and plastics. Decided to switch things up...pulled spinners with crawlers...no fish. Finally decided to try cranks...pulled flicker minnows at .9 to 1.6 ...
