I fished the Mobridge area last Thursday, with creek chubs, minnows, and even drug some BB around with crawlers. Now one was catching any that we heard. I know we caught no keeper walleye in the usual Mobridge fall spots. Friday we went up the Moreau south of Mobridge. Wen quite a ways up in there, hit a bunch of points, fished from 8 fow to 40 fow. Got 2. Even tried snap weights and plugs in 30-40 fow. What is the deal? Any action on the ND Side??
9 lb spawned out 31 incher Personal Best Cranks in 11 fow Only caught 3 but the big mama made my day. The one beside it is 17 inches. I didnt know if she would make it as blood was coming out of her gills. Damn that thing was heavy pulling it in. Bath Tub strikes again!!
Headed out early and fished up the Grand from 9 to 5. 3 fish.
Fished after work until dark, just a couple hours, but enough to get our 10!! Jigs n minnows on the main channel break. The bite is on. Bellies were full of shad. I wish I could have got out last week when it was nice. Hope I can get out again....fun night We kept a couple 14 but 4 were 18" the rest 16 ish
Once we found em, we limited in an hour. Shallow on cranks and BB.
PERSONAL BEST 29.5" 8.7 lbs We put in at Ft. Rice fished around noon to 6:30. Kept 6 released about 6 including the Big Mama.
We fished between Hazelton and Fort Rice ramps. We got out about 1 quit at 6. One nice keeper walleye. We know other boats did well. I know a boat of 4 guys got 17 in about 3 hrs in Bismarck. There were well over 100 boats I'd estimate we seen today. You would think more guys would give a report, it's not like you're gonna add anymore fishing pressure.
Only bite of the day. First fish out of my new shack! Put it back, I'd say over 10lbs
Fished Ft Yates right south of town right out from the rip rap. Nothing...9" of ice. I talked to a couple others who were out by me but deeper.... same results.
We got 6 keeper walleye in the Grand River area. Fished a sharp drop from 20 to 40 fow. All the fish were caught in a 30 minute window at sundown. Ice was 9". Some brave soul had a pickup on the ice! Fish were between 14 - 16 inches. The flip over worked great.
Went out today 9/1 from 12:30-4:40. My buddy wanted to use his 14 Ft boat since he hadn't run it yet this season. We fished main channel break between Winona and Yates. We jigged an Lindy rigged with minnows. No wind at all, but caught 3 nice fish, 22", 21", and 18".
Fished the one mile from shore with the wife from 9:30 to 2 pm. Kept a 21" and a 18" walleye. I threw back about 10 dinks. Missed a couple bite because I'm getting old and slow. Talked with a buddy who picked up a 3 man limit on BB. They fished from 10 -2 also.
