Got lucky the next day and found a bunch of active 14-17" walleyes in 12-14 FOW in front of some flooded trees. Forage minnow and waxies worked best - minnow heads too. Went fishing Saturday 10:00-5:00. Spent four hours trolling cranks, lindy rigging with crawlers/leeches, pitching cranks and paddle tails, and slip bobbering - without as much as a nibble. Just about to pull the pin and give up when I found a perch on an inside corner of some weeds. Stuck the Talon and worked the area patiently by pitching a green 1/8 ounce gumball jig tipped with bait. Eventually teased out three jumbos and six walleyes 18-25" along with several smaller eyes and perch. All the fish came on 8 lb nano, no fluorocarbon leader. Never ...
