I have to share this story. My daycare lady told us that her daughter has been getting bullied at school and that my oldest son stepped in and defended her. Telling the others to leave her alone. As a father, I am always proud of my kids. Im a big baby when it comes to my kiddos. The wife called me today and told me this story. I welled up with so much pride that I almost started crying. Truly amazing how kids can touch our lives.

This is my daughter that he is referring to. Kills me to see her come home crying. She is 6 inches to a foot taller than all of the other first graders, which I guess makes her stick out. I just tell her that one day things will change and people will look up to her(no pun intended) when she is the captain of the volleyball or basketball team, or a model(don't want to think about that, but she is going to be a beautiful 6 foot tall woman). It sucks, but will never change. I was bullied and bullied some other kids. Hopefully it doesn't get to her too much cause I know that girls take stuff a lot more personally than most guys.:(

I was so proud. I couldn't wait to get home and tell him how proud of him I was. Great day!

This is the making of a jesus christ of latter day saints commercial. In all seriousness, this is parenting done right. Going to be one hell of a kid.

I have a similar story, my son is 2 years older than my daughter and they were occasionally on the play ground together in grade school. One day my son was playing football and my daughter was across the playground with some other kids. Evidently she took some boys cap and he knocked her down trying to get it back from her. I think my son was in 5th grade and she was in 3rd. Anyway my son saw this kid knock her down and ran full sprint across the playground and tackled this kid, evidently from behind because it took a good bit of skin off the kids chin and cheek when he hit the ground. I got called in to talk to the principal because the other kid was injured (slightly), and his parents were upset about it. It was funny cuz my son was in the office, and the principal explained to me what happened, and how it was a misunderstanding and how my son should stop and ask questions before resorting to physical violence, even when defending someone you love, etc. Then the principal asked my son to go wait in the hall and after the door was shut, he told me that my son would have to miss recess for a couple days, but then he laughed and made a comment basically saying, "we cannot encourage behavior like this, which could end up in someone getting injured, but if I had a son and daughter the same age, and something like this happened, I would expect my son to do the exact same thing your son did, defending his younger sister...."

Now thats something to be extremely proud of for sure!
To bad there wasn't someone like your son here.
And they wonder why there is racism..

I've got one too...My boy is a little bit smaller than the other kids his age so he gets the blunt end of things when it comes to physical activity. One day on the bus ride home one of the older kids was talking bad about one of my boys friends. So, being the good kid my boy is, my boy argued with the older kid, telling him that he was wrong about his friend and that he isn't a jerk or ugly or whatever he was saying about him. Did this enough to get punched in the face. I really wish he would have unleashed the hulk on the older kid but he didn't. After that the bigger kid would randomly hit my boy in the arm, stomach and face. We ended up having to move before I got to go into the principals office (my wife wouldn't let me go in at first). He's a good loyal friend. Makes a dad proud for sure.

Now just to train him in the art of ninjitsu...LOL! He's got to learn to hold his own because of his stature compared to the other kids his age.

I know what your saying my kid is 5'4" and 110 pounds and in third grade he gets to deal with other kids telling he was held back and crap like that. I told him the same stuff just wait till your older and being a foot taller then every one will be good. He is to nice for his own good some time but i got a call last year that some kids were messing with another kid and he put a stop to it. I told him I will back him 100% for doing the right thing every time.

She is 4'6" and 75lbs as a first grader. So definitely big for her age and especially a girl. Just gonna have to teach her the throat punch approach I guess and deal with the repercussions!
