Hey everyone...not looking for anything real specific...but I've got the itch something fierce to bust out the "long rods" this weekend...and was wondering if I'm crazy to think I might be able to find an eye or two somewhere along the Mouse in Minot...any thoughts on whether I'm crazy to even try pitchin jigs this weekend? I'm no river rat...so I'm just looking for a little advice here...anything will be greatly appreciated!

waters open but would help to have some more water flowing from the dam start south look for coffer dams and start fishing them there is still ice today but any coffer dam should have open water below it

I've fished the dam at the zoo 4 times now and one northern is all. I've fished the meat plant dam
And nothing. I did manage a 9 lb northern and 2 19 inch eyes further east though. We have been nailing them through the ice still passed Granville so most likely minot area still a month out yet.

I would try the dam by the zoo and try the downstream side of the bridge. The fish aren't real aggressive and have been hanging out in the slow current sections of the rivers. Close to the dam may be to much current for them right now, but in a couple of weeks......Katie Bar the Door!!!! Jig and minnow would be my choice of presentation and when you think you are reeling slow enough, cut that speed in half, and then half it again. The fish seem to want it almost sitting still on the bottom. Good Luck!!!
