What do you guys do with your oil when it gets skanky?

I dig a hole, pour mine in, and cover it up. But there HAS to be something more useful?

I bet it would work great as a fire starter? (when firewood is wet and uncooperative)

I have on occasion poured it right down the garbage disposal with scalding hot tap water, mrs johnr gets all uptight about that, not sure what it would hurt?
I fill the sink with some sudsy Dawn dish soap afterwards, and give it a soapy chaser.

Living in town I don't have the ability to dig a hole out back and bury it, and I don't want a oily garden.

galwhofishes would freak if I poured it in the drain by the gallon.

And the neighbor doesn't seem to mind me burying it in his hedge row. :)

Usually into an empty wine bottle then toss it into the garbage. My wife is classy in that her wine comes with a screw top.

firepit, hole dug with a post hole digger or on top of the garbage before it gets burned.

I thought about just drizzling it across the wood pile - but worried about attracting skunks, hornets, similar vermin.

How many fish fries do you do on average before you change to new oil? I realize a person should have separate oils for fish and other meats but just wondering what everyone else does...

I use new oil in the pan every time for making fish. Then when it cools I toss a wad of paper towels in the garbage can and just pour it into the garbage. I only use about an inch deep oil bath though in a frying pan to make fish. It works for me anyway.

I guess I was referring to those with big turkey fryers. My bad.

I recently dug a hole and dumped it in there and covered it up, first time for me and I think I will keep doing it. But previously I dumb it back into the jug it came in or a milk carton.

I pour mine into the jug it came in and toss it in my dumpster. Or else I haul it to the city and dump it.

I have a big oil container that my parents got from sams a while back. Ive been using that for bad oil the last few years. Its starting to get full so I am also wondering what the best bet would be.

On a side note I started draining my oil after every use and then cleaning the bottom. That makes the oil last a lot longer then when I didn't.

Biodiesel. Easy to do, just don't go through enough oil myself. And don't have any Diesel engines.
