fished on thursday afternoon out of lewis and clark state park and fished 4 to 30 fow - caught 1 small sauger and some white bass in 26' - sucked...

went back out this afternoon and poked around and couldn't even mark fish - AGAIN... ended up going across to the tobacco side and fished west of there... finally found some bait fish cruising through in 19 to 20' with bigger marks mixed in, but cruising through slow with jigs, just couldn't get a bite... parked on top of them and finally got some takers... had spot lock on, and that was the only way we got bites...

had to sort through a bunch of white bass, but ended up with 8 eyes from 17 to 22"... had waves of them come through and all action was between 5 and 630 when we left...

a 1/4 oz parrot jig with a minnow did most of the damage, with 2 coming on a 1/4 oz chartreuse jig with a 4" double white twister tail and a minnow... orange jig with a minnow caught 80% of the bass... slow takers with most caught out of the rod holders with gentle rocking motion of quartering 1 footers 2 - 8 " off bottom - aggressive or still didn't work tonight...

water temp was 43, so there's still time - good luck all!!!

    update...

took some buddies out sunday to the same spot - got there at 430... had 4 in the box by 5 - then they were done... started moving at 515 and tried - worked 5 to 25' hard till 645, and nothing more... saw way more fish moving through than the day b4, but not interested in our fat heads after 500... wind had switched from thew day b4 and was way warmer, so more comfortable, but nothing after 500... that's fishing...

going back to work till nov 1 - hopefully the weather holds...

    good luck all...
