We made the trip up to the legendary Rainy River to meet up with Karlee Winkleman and chase after some spring walleyes and sturgeon! The walleye bite was on fire—plenty of action with some quality fish mixed in. As for the sturgeon… well, they were thick! We even foul-hooked a few, but surprisingly, none wanted the bait we had soaking for them.
We stayed two days in Baudette at the Walleye Inn, and it was the perfect basecamp—great accommodations and plenty of outlets to charge the boats. We even got snowed on during the trip, but that didn’t stop the fish (or us) from grinding it out!
