My cousin and his grandkid got a couple buck around Clark SD. That's just west of Watertown, and his grandkid's is a pretty nice 6x5

I know of a landowner that shot a monster Muley with a bow in Campbell county SD, that's just south of Pollock. Photo is right on the water of lake Oahe. It's on my phone but I hesitate to post pics that I didn't take.

Finally punched my antlerless rifle tag Saturday on a fat 1.5 year old doe. Not a ton of meat, but I fried some of the tender bits in butter and S & P for the kiddos and they gave it a resounding two thumbs up. My dad come up to help me butcher it, and I'm confident when I say that no scrap went to waste. The plus side also of not shooting a monster deer was the mile long drag out of the WMA over snow was a breeze. I barely got winded!

I may get out late season to try and fill my bow tag with something brown, but I'm happy that at least for one more year our clan has venison on the menu again!

Sat allot of dark to dark sits up north, never did see any giants. Passed on some real nice ones at easy bow range, one was a 150s 5x5 and the other a wider drop tine 4x4. Hopefully they make it until next year.
I told my mom I'd bring her home some venison and I did that with my muzzleloader at about 40 yds from the ground while sitting in a snowbank. Actually filmed the shot with my phone in my free hand even ha ha. Here are a couple pics.

This reminds me, I have my muzzleloader loaded, for a good 5 years now, luckily its with smokeless powder but I should probably shoot it to clear it out... lol

Ha ha ha definitely a broken record right! Just trying to get a legitimate giant up north, its not easy in Manitoba. Theres no baiting like there is in Saskatchewan, hell bait plots..I mean food plots are even illegal. Theres good reason there are no deer hunting shows based out of Manitoba because they'd be extremely boring! Ha ha
But there is that chance of a giant with that much cover around, we've taken a couple bucks in that 170-190 class the past 10 years hoping its my turn soon! It's always a fun camp with family and friends up there and that's what I enjoy the most! This was the biggest I saw taken up there this season, just a dream deer!
