Juneberries ready yet? How do you know when they are ready.
not ready but I just got my reminder on my phone to net them to keep the birds from eating them all, gonna be a couple weeks I suppose before they are ready to try. None are blue yet that ive noticed.

What netting you using? My 1 inch black netting totally sucks.

The robins and catbirds suddenly started swarming the honeys this morning.

Blizzard are close to ripe, plenty ripe enough to enjoy a few handful from the bushes!

birds clean me out here - I need to set up serious netting 😔
They will do that! Ive got a cat thats outside in my back yard thats a serious hunter, she kills a robin or blackbird almost daily. Probably the only reason I have any berries on my bushes right now, they did take probably 80% of them already. Ive been to busy to net also this year, unfortunately. I need to net my juneberries soon though, my mom loves those and will be pissed if I dont have any for her!

Area in blue is mostly haskap, I think ive got 11 x 300ft rows. i also have 3 rows of juneberry, 1 row of juliet sour cherries, 1 row of apricots, 1 row of aronia, 1 row of rhubarb. They are getting big enough that I should start netting them probably, thats gonna be a chore. Maybe next year.
