I have a friend that has a M6 Moose tag. He had a nice Bull on camara 2 wks ago in the Page area.
If any one sees a Bull in M6 please let me know. Bow season opened yesterday so season is open. Even a Cow as the Bulls will be checking them out.

Thanks

To be honest , I think it's been about 4 years since I've seen a moose. Wish I had better news.

My experience hunting moose, not in M6, but in agriculture areas is that you can drive and drive, look and look, and all of a sudden, there's a moose. Talk to farmers, mailmen, anyone who's out in the country. Someone will know where there's a moose. Or someone who know's someone that's seen one lately. good luck.

I would prolly go to the first woodlot near Rolla rock lake area. So if moose are still in the turtle mountains there will be spill over onto the prarie potholes. So they have had the turtles shut down for .oose for a while they are up there but not in numbers to have a open kill. Imo they doing OK up there or should be. Hunted deer up around wakopa gma in 08 moose had been up there no doubt. So near that area. Any trees or spots with red willow or dog willow without standing water should have or be premium moose grounds. I'd say good luck but any body that told me that I always felt offended because they didn't actually mean it. Imo the said get fucked competion where I'm at.

Used to see some every year around the Page/Hope area but haven't for a few years now. Like others said hit the small towns and ask around the locals will surely know and offer leads.

I'm going out in the area where the Bull was seen yesterday. Cody didn't see it today. I was helping one of my boys put flooring today. But will be out early tomorrow. Cody has to work tomorrow morning. Then off the rest of the week.

Tinesdown, thank you for the report. We do appreciate.

Well Cody shot a Bull with his Bow this morning at 19 yds. I seen it walking along a shelter belt. When he walked into the belt he layed down. Cody played the wind and snuck up on him when was laying down.

Just a real good hunt for a good kid

He called 10 mins before he shot it and said. I hear it snoring. When he looked up it was less than 15 yds. And he new he had to get past it because of the wind. He shot at 19 yds. It ran past him at 8 yds. Then walked West along the beans about 30 yds and just stood there. It walked 10 rows into the beans and layed down. It was 1/4 away and shot a

nd arrow came out the front. Was not a pass thru. It took close to 20 mins for it to die. He asked if he should shoot it again. I said just him lay there and bleed out
He had permission to drive in and pull it out.

Sounds like most of the moose hunts I've been involved in. Look and look for a moose and about the time you think there are no moose in this unit,There Stands One, and soon it's over and celebration begins. Congratulatons on what sounded like a fun and exciting hunt.
