Anyone else notice that there seems to be a lot more of them this year?
Thanks, I’m going to try thatWhatever you do dont squash them they release a scent that will only attract more, citronella candles or orange peels work the best. I deal with them little bastards every year
Sounds logical. Grandma said they'd ball up all over her house. I've just had to deal with my box elder friends. They show up in houses every year when soybeans dessicate causing their food source, aphids to die.
They also tear up old men. LBThey will tear an infant or small child up if parents don't pay attention. It's heartbreaking to look at what those little bastages will do. Rash doesn't even come close to the sores they cause when they tear open skin. I've seen it happen in homes that leave windows/doors open in the fall to enjoy the cool weather or in trailers that are a bit more porous in their constuction. They are looking for moisture, which is why they bite people. They will steadily get worse in homes until the first hard frost. Then they taper off. They are NOT my favorite beetle to say the least. Stay Safe!!!!
Is this a thing?^^^^Get two. Keep one available with some diesel fuel/gasoline; to immediately kill wasp/hornet nests:
I don't recommend coating fuel on the exterior of a house. It's for precise application: Mark the jug. Mark the jug. Mark the jug as containing a volatile substance/liquid. Wear PPE and don't smoke anything.

That is all:
