I, myself know a little bit about guns and everything: The dialogue presents realism but for fuck's sake wait a day, edit then post.

Anyways, they did blow it up by mixing powders from sweeping a gun range floor. When the 3 1/2in 12ga debuted I believe Jim Carmichel wrote it shared the MAP with a .410.

There are folks who specialize in turning SxS shotguns into SxS rifles. Single-shot break action shotguns have essentially the same lockup.

You can buy a break-action single-shot H&R Topper/NEF from 223Rem up through 45-70.

The full choke doesn't start @ the chamber.

Chamber pressure isn't 55K PSI when you've got a 3" chamber and a ~1.75" COAL with a chamber diameter of .470 vs. .452 projectile diameter.

Someone could calculate this but I suspect the long tapering choke squeezing and elongating the projectile produces less pressure than obturation @ the chamber and a very tight land-groove-projectile seal.

The "testers" are either feigning surprise or they're slack-jawed booger-eating morons from the get-go.

I have an 870 .410. A few years ago I wrote Rem and suggested .45 Colt rifle bbls. Polite form letter reply advising to examine my colon with my own closed hand. With all their retard "innovations"; you'd think they'd jumped on this.

The bbl would be pretty straightforward. They probably weren't interested at all in trying to get it to feed. Probably cheaper to find a 14 or 25 and have it re-bored vs. the 870 bbl swap.

Interesting concept though. 870 based 22" 45LC bbl w.mag-tube extension woulda held about 25 rounds if they semi-spiraled the mag-tube.

410, wooden arrows, ends cut off shells and bb dumped out, case or two of old mill, not smart but fun and you can get more than 400 fps just dont fly that straight. This was a long long time ago. LB

^^^^Never considered a feeding problem. I've always thought of the 870 as the "AK" of repeating shotguns. I'll bet you're correct.

Also, I'm not familiar with a "14" or "25".

Remington pump rifles

If you could find a 14 1/2, they were designed for the 38-40/44-40 so you'd only have to concern yourself with a stroke that is long enough to cycle the 45LC.

Not an 870, but, they've mag-fed the 760/6/7600 for decades and recently offered a 7600-esque that feeds 223/5.56. There's plenty of pistol cartridge conversions/magzine's for AR's. There's no real reason that they couldn't chamber bbls to accept a .50 Beowolf and other non-rimmed large-bore sub 2.26" COAL cartridges. The AR accepting magazine-well is done so they'd just have to produce the appropriate bbl/bolt-head.
