    Colorado wolves

Gotcha. In any case I don’t think re-introduction of wolves in the prairie states would be popular with anyone. Nor would it accomplish anything at all and that’s why I’m not sure it’s even worth discussing. The parallel to ND is that we have opposite viewpoints and an uneducated public that can...

    Colorado wolves

If you’re referring to the Washington spring bear hunt fiasco, I believe you have it backwards. BHA advocated for it to remain open.

    Colorado wolves

Bingo. The steps are already in motion. Again you need to ask why the farm bureau is so involved with the bait ban. They have no interest in hunting, in fact they prefer game numbers down. They have interest in control and are getting a lot of free labor from the anti GNF/CWD movement. Like...

Exactly why it’s dangerous to allow emotional voters to dictate game management.

One tag vs multi tag poll

And where do they create this habitat? It takes a willing landowner. And a significant number of acres. An island of 20 trees in the ocean of dirt that is the RRV won’t get you too far.

One tag vs multi tag poll

The focus of the article is that the public badlands are getting crowded, not that the deer population and tag availability are getting scarce. Though the two are connected. But as far as I see it hell yeah we have a habitat problem. If people got as worked up about that as they did about...

    ? changes to bow/mule deer ?

I agree, it’s my favorite place to hunt but it’s also purely subjective. If there were more big tracts of public land and access throughout the state there would be less value on the badlands alone. I think dividing it into units or segmenting season dates would help. Raising prices to where...

    ? changes to bow/mule deer ?

I do think that raising our on nonresident tag prices on par with other states is a good idea. I’m don’t think pricing residents out of the badlands is a good idea. Saving the states last free reign areas for those with the money to play is a bad idea.

    ? changes to bow/mule deer ?

I wish they’d put more money to habitat as well but A.) It takes landowners giving up acres that could be in production and a shit ton of money, so - B.) Where do they get that money? It was asked at a advisory meeting where CWD awareness funds came from and how they are allocated and it was...

    Barrel burners

My .300 has one and yeah she barks. But it’s heavy and I have nothing to compare it to.

You’ve yet to answer anything I’ve asked you so… I guess you’ll just have to play gotcha by yourself.

    Barrel burners

Food for thought for sure. Do you think breaks help much on the lightweight mags?

    Barrel burners

I won’t say I shoot like that every time, but it happens. I guess I mean if I can get 2 out of 3 in a quarter I feel like I’m sighted. I hate the feeling of not being confident in a shot. I’ve looked into the short mags, haven’t ruled them out either.

    Barrel burners

Change that from Hornady to Nosler trophy grade partitions and you’re probably right. I like to keep the holes inside a quarter at 200 and I’m plenty comfortable hitting a gong with my .300 win mag at 500. It’s just that it weighs about 12 lbs. Too much for the mountains. Hell it was almost...

    Barrel burners

I still haven’t gotten into the reloading game. I think the amount of time it would take for me to learn everything and start tweaking isn’t something I can do just yet. Live the idea of it, just can’t commit.

    Barrel burners

Kind of where my head was at. My dad has a 220 swift from the 70s that’s been on multiple prairie dog and predator journeys and it still shoots well. It was always taken care of and probably never too hot, but by some definitions it’s probably “shot out” my intentions for the nosler would be...

    Barrel burners

Is a caliber being a “barrel burner” a huge concern to you guys? The ultra mags, swifts, weatherbys and such. Some people report as few as 1000 rounds in some calibers can ruin a barrel. Barrel life depends on a lot of things, but does a caliber known for running too hot dissuade you from...
