I'm reading through these posts, and nodding my head at over half of them. Mostly "why can't people just be nice?", and "seems that most gay people just want to be left alone". Then I get to this, and I can't quit laughing. Bravo! I don't know what it even means, but that doesn't matter...

    Juneteenth Day

Agreed. There are a lot of white, or non-black people that I have no interest in getting to know. And the black people that I DO know are all respectable people. I think the key words in what you say, is "current black culture". Being the dad to a black girl, I am pretty observant of this...

    Patio/Deck Furniture

I work in the commercial swimming pool industry. The chairs and loungers that they have at the local swimming pool are usually pretty good stuff. They get manhandled a lot, stacked, dragged, over-stressed by big people. Grossfillex makes some nice pvc stuff, but it ain't cheap. The nice...

    Juneteenth Day

The "blacks don't know their fathers" thing is a little tired. I know stereotypes exist because they're sometimes rooted in truth, but that's a pretty shitty thing to say. JMTC

    Gutter Guards?

Amen brother. I have very few trees at my house, but my dear old mom has neighbors with ridiculously huge cottonwoods. I spend way too much time cleaning her yard. I too bought the plastic perforated snap-in types, from Menards. They come in black, brown, and I think green. They'd about 6"...

    Pike Bite

For ice-fishing, I have a big ol pair of nasty leather chopper mitts. I stick my thumb in, they bite down, and I got 'em. The hook removal thing is great, if you have a partner. Not so much if your by your lonesome. Couple years ago I came across a guy shorefishing at night. He had a fish...

    Decrease speed limit

Yup. Agreed. Kind of like the BS line where people claim "I drive better when I'm a little buzzed". They say it's because they're a little scared, and paying more attention. On paper, that might work at one very specific point in a night of drinking. But anything beyond that slightly buzzed...

    Pike Bite

Yeesh. Years ago my buddy and I had a big-un in the boat. Pretty much swallowed a crankbait. He held the fish's mouth open, while I went in to do a little dentistry. His hand slipped off the lower jaw, and it clamped on my hand. My reaction was the worst possible. I yanked my hand straight...

Trinity River alligator gar trip 2022

Awesome! That sounds like an absolute blast. I bet you had sand EVERYWHERE. Looks like the entire party had a lot of fun, and that's truly what fishing is about. The cabin you rented looked pretty nice too. I bet at the end of the day, you guys just crashed. How was the weather/temps? I...

    Decrease speed limit

From a mechanical standpoint, it would seem that 85 and above, is hard on vehicles that aren't meant to drive that fast for long periods. Over-revving, etc. From a safety standpoint, it would seem that the faster you go, the worse the crash would be. That's literally, a no-brainer...

“Watsons outdoor related contributions to NDA”

Buddy, if you need to be sober, then I hope you achieve your goal. One day at a time. Don't worry about tomorrow. Work on being sober TODAY, and let tomorrow take care of itself. I have a few years under my belt, and it gets easier every day. I haven't had a craving in years, and it's a...

Is it immoral to drive an electric vehicle?

As others here have stated (and many others country-wide), they have no problem with electricity. I have cordless drills, saws, lawn equipment etc. I often prefer it to gas-powered items. But if/when I purchase an electric vehicle, it will be because I want one, not because Ed Begley told me...

Could not have said it better myself, and I've tried. Especially your last paragraph. Spot-on, KDM. Perfect.
