    Water Levels

Its been pretty amazing to watch. The fish for us have moved deeper recently, but really like the rising water! The dock at Walth Bay has been pulled up a few times as the ramp has been under water.

yeah I saw some dead fish Friday/Saturday, but I heard there was a lot of dead bass around Sunday. Also the bite really took a nosedive. Lots of skunked boats Sunday. Saturday was a grind to get our fish.

I fished near the Walth Bay boat ramp last Friday. Unreal fishing. the bigger eyese were nice and shallow as well. Going out tonight for the long weekend. Weather looks crappy Friday but should improve over the weekend.

We were pulling a bare hook/bead/crawler/minnow with a bottom bouncer slow. .5 mph. Fish in all depths.

We fished Pollock on Saturday. They were darn near jumping in the boat. We had a shoreline to ourselves not far from the ramp and it was fire. Fish 16-20 inches. Sunday we fished around New Evarts. Not as hot but still did well. Fish were coughing up Sand Fly larve in the live well. Bigger fish...

We did OK down in the Walth Bay area Saturday. Started up in the Moreau which was a complete waste of time with the dirty water. Main channel had better water and the fish were interested.

    Lake Winnipeg Fishing gear

I forgot to post a report from the Feb trip. Fishing was better than our Jan trip, mostly because we could move around (it was much warmer). I iced my personal best Greenback that was 29 inches and 12 pounds. My Buddy got one right away that went 30 inches. I must have caught over 100 walleyes...

    Lake Winnipeg Fishing gear

Just a quick update! We fished during that brutal cold period in mid Jan that made mobility almost impossible. We also drove up in the Eastern ND Saturday blizzard, and had a flat tire on the ice. Oh man. But with that said, the fishing was pretty darn good. Average fish was around 23 inches...

Thanks all for the assistance. We will be taking off on Jan 13th for 3 days of fishing. Looks cold, but that's normal! I am luck to be joining a group of guys that have it all set up and have been there before.

Thanks all for the great response! I'll add what my buddy has been using up there the past few years. blue/chrome Rippin Raps and Berkley Warpigs – don’t ask me why, but blue/chrome works every year; other colors also work but there is something about blue/chrome larger flutter spoons...

    Lake Winnipeg Fishing gear

All- I'm headed to Lake Winnipeg in mid Jan for a 3 day fishing extravaganza. Looking for suggestions for special lures/jigs etc. to purchase before heading north. Any tips appreciated as well. I'm sure things are much more expensive in Canada. Thanks in advance
