I am looking to switch out the factory radio my boat came with with something a little bitter. What I am finding is that the size does not match up. Newer radios are smaller. Any way to reduce the plastic hole down without buying a new panel? I have about 1/4 to 1/2 inch gap to fill from what I can see from the specs.

In today's world...I am shocked. (note the sarcasm)

On a serious note, any dedicated sound shop should be able to help you. In Bismarck, I'd probably try Pacific Sound and Stereo first. Not because I have any experience with them, just because they popped up on a quick internet search. I'd have to think they've run into this on an install.

The aftermarket install kits all have various size faceplates to address this issue.

I should have mentioned my radio is round. That is where I'm running into a problem.

Lots of round ones on crutchfield. Just look up marine radios, kicker, clarion, jbl, and several others with round mounting. FYI, the kicker has a square face plate but has a round mounting hole.
