The geese have been decoying well the last few weeks, but there is not alot of them in my area.Usually the lake and river are loaded.Must be alot by deepwater or garrison?I know there is alot of hunters out.

We hunted them last Saturday morning, west of Garrison. There were definitely other hunters in the area, we heard 2 other groups shooting. Lots of geese, they were 10-15 miles north of the lake, which I think is crazy this time of year, but I am still very much a newby when it comes to geese. We had a spread of about 50 decoys out with 3 guys, only managed 5. They were shy coming into us, but again being newbies we probably had something wrong.
A lot of geese were going to bean fields, not much corn in that area. It seemed like the bigger flocks were moving fields 2-3 times a day, I imagine they clean up a field pretty quick.
We will be out next weekend, going to try hard for 3 days and see what we can learn. Hoping some corn gets cut and theres a fresh food source for them by then.

Late season honkers is a pretty tight lipped subject. Too many ppl have flocked to it the last few years.

Came back from Fargay yesterday and lots of geese from just south of Washburn to almost Max. It was around 3:30 to 4 o'clock and they were just getting out to the fields.

I was only able to scout for about 20 minutes last night, snowy/dark/cloudy made it hard to see but we found a few fields that still had a couple hundred birds in them at 5:10pm. Saw some bigger 500+ bird flocks flying back to the lake so they are still in the area we are looking at. Going down again tonight to try to pinpoint some better fields.
Planning on hunting Friday-Monday.

There were thousands and thousands of honkers in migration formation flying over Bismarck last night. Wave on wave of them.

We hunted west of Washburn Saturday. Stayed out till 3pm - lots of geese on the river but not a lot of movement. Ended with 2. Heard they moved at 4pm. Sandbars were loaded as we were driving back.

Tons of birds were flying late in the day at about 4-5 pm around the big lake. Nice weather for them this last weekend. Hunts will get better as soon as the big lake locks up

With thread titles like “honkers” and “Flasher” you guys are creating expectations that aren’t being met. But the thread titled “coffee” is hundreds of pages of tits.

Late movement is what we found as well. They were moving off the lake around 3-330. Ended up not even hunting geese and switched to pheasants.
