We all have our favorites. What is your "go to" way of catching fish?

Long story. In 1998 we put a camper at the Northwest Angle. All of our fishing was with Jigs, no matter what time of the year, depth, weather. And we caught lots of fish. Then the start of 2016 jig fishing was tough went to BB and spinners and yep the fish were still there and bitting. Since then it has been mostly spinners and BB. Okay I will admit I am old and not the greatest fisherman like most on here. But I do like jig fishing.

Tough to pick just one favorite, but if I did I’d say there is something special about watching a bobber go down or a flag go up

Nothing makes the heart spike as seeing a bobber go down or the light tap tap on a BB.

Pitching crankbaits in June and jigging rockpiles in July are tough to beat. Bobbers are always fun and I enjoy covering water via trolling. Basically anything that puts walleyes in the boat is a blast!

I find pitching ineffective when ice fishing, which disappoints me.

depends on the target I guess but if I can sling lures that is my preferred method, jungle fishing in shallow water for bucket mouths is a fun challenge as well. If I had to pick a lure to start with for casting it is more often than not a spinnerbait.

Depends on time of year, but prefer to pitch jigs on the river in spring, crank all summer and fall. The only time I really want to put the cranks away in the fall is for the jig rap bite. But overall for me, it's hard to beat cranking and catching fish after fish and hearing the clicker go off all day, but i also enjoy the constant thought process of depth, speed, lure action etc of cranking.

Pitching swimbaits early spring to "emerging weeds" or pitching cranks into flooded timber. (Bet you'll never guess where I fish) ;-)
