That same dealership hung a Seven’s Marine 557 on the back of a 219 a few years ago, they did a white and green 209 with a four Hundo ( that one’s running around Sakakawea), and now this masterpiece . This one seems to draw my eye to it more than the others, that 450 just looks right back there!

Is that it? Looks like a 250. Not very big, and a crap video.

My 200 merc on my YarCraft on Metigoshe gets to the high 60's (has hit 68) for about 30 seconds before I have to slow down to turn so I don't run up on shore. Just me in the boat and with only a quarter tank (15 gal) of gas.

SDMF, I had a 2000 1895 Storm SC with a 06' 225 Opti and a worked DAH Tempest Plus, it was a 60 mph boat depending on how it was loaded. I suppose the later erra ones labeled as a 2095 with 250 Pro XS loaded really light and set up perfectly might get 65+-?

Comparing the XB-21 to a 219 yar is like comparing Jennifer Aniston to Rosie O’Donnell.

More like Usain Bolt to Hafthor Bjornnson. Both highly respected in their field, and neither would fare well in the other's area of expertise.

I can't recall if it was a Gambler or Allison that I passed in the wind one day. I had a Ranger 681VS w/125Merc 2+2 that would run in the low 40's. The wind was such that the bass boat had to trim up and plow, when he went on plane it was a "spear-fest".

But you can’t compare to completely different engineered hull designs. You can compare a basscat to an XB-21 but not to a 219.

I agree -- but my point is instead of increasing HP --- they continue to perfect the hull to be fast and efficient with less HP. Just look at the numbers how few hp you need on those allisons to get speed.

anyway back to gov cup:

- - - Updated - - -

it might be a long haul in the am. But when it gets hot flat calm in the afternoon watch out

- - - Updated - - -

back in the day we did our little tourney in mn -- I only had my 16 footer, in fact we had every type of boat - but we always had some from the bass club with bass boats and we would always have one guy or two with big wally boat (back then it was the 200-225s) anyway the bass boats at the start would always wait until that "guy" would be at WOT and then would blow buy him (most having 150s or 115) and then trim up and rooster em a little.

It's all fun and games until you launch @ Spirit Lake Casino with a 15+MPH NW wind. Trimmed up and plowing on the transom would be a LONG run to Pelican. I doubt you could get enough fuel in one to run that far that way, one way, let alone round-trip. It'd be mighty bruising to the ego when a guy with a 20yr old 17' Lund Fisherman with a 90 shot by you in the Allison.
