Have to visit Jamestown this week and need a pear tree and a couple flowering crabs. Who has good stock?

I think Country Gardens is about all that's left in Jamestown. I bought a Luscious there 25 years ago. It started producing at three years old. After ten years old it was putting out 100 lbs a year until the wind took a third of it down. I also cut the top half off because I couldn't reach the fruit so we will see what happens this summer. I also bought a Spice Pear at the same time. It produces about 10 to 15 pounds and matures a month earlier than the Luscious.

Call before you go. Last year they wouldn't sell fruit trees until the trees were leafed out. 701-251-2030. Be sure to reserve what you want.

Where are you coming from? Harmsens greenhouse in LaMoure is the best in the area.
