Off topic, but I've been nothing but disappointed in the direction their fly rods have taken in the last 10 years. I used to sing the praises of the Legend Ultra and Legend Elite series to anyone that would listen. Now all they sell is low-end crap. Sad stuff

I’m guessing the addition of the titanium hook holder is worth the extra $200.

What the hell. It’s not like they were cheap to begin with. I have several Croix rods. Glad I got them when they were some what affordable.

I don't have first hand experience with this series of St. Croix rods but it appears that the $630 version is their Legend Extreme. Looking through that page, they list Legend X, Legend Elite, Legend Tournament, and Legend Glass. The Legend Tournament Walleye Spinning are in the $250 range which looks to be the least expensive.

Woodland in DL just got a new shipment of Commander Rods. Made somewhere in MN. I really liked their jigging rod. Got I about 5 or 6 years ago. Since then GLomis has been in the rod locker. Under $150 bucks including tax.

The Legend Extreme series what he's referring to. They ranged from $390-430 until this year.

I’ve got 2 legend tournament rods.
6’-10” and 7’-6” ML extra fast. Great rods and definitely the most expensive I’ll ever own.
Does Scheels stock tuned up custom long rods? I’ve only seen the ice fishing rods on the shelf.

Have a ouple of the tournaments a couple of the premieres and one extreme. I can’t find fault with any of them and I’ve had several of these for a long while. with that hike, I’ll never buy another one but I have a feeling I’ll be passing these down to my son at some point
