I have been a big fan of the 2nd generation dakota not so much for the 3 rd generation because they went to a lowered factory suspension as well as an over hyped 4.7 when they could have easily fitted the 5.7 hemi in there lots of topics of the 5.7 swap.
With the newest generation dakota they are finally going offer a 3.0 liter diesel engine option and a 3.6 liter gas engine hopefully with some kind of ecoboost type option.

I bought my grandpa's '95 dakota cuz I wanted to keep it in the family. Solid runner, great small lake, early ice, dump run type of truck. Ram is finally going to catch back up to the mid size truck market.
