like a good neighbor, sluggo is there

with solid advice

Meh, I would go after black Friday. Silly Sunday maybe or purchase on Cyber Monday. We shall see. I don't need the TV right now anyhow, another month won't kill me.

I hear you though. I won't stand on one foot, crowing like a rooster, for 5%. But if the deal is there, why not? Not stupid to save some money...

5% of a thousand dollars is like.. . eighty bucks or something.

I've started to slowly convert the fleet to LG. I like the picture quality and the remotes become consistent as well. One is a smart TV and it works slick with Netflix and the like.

I bought a 65 inch vizio a couple of years ago at Wal-Mart. Don't remember how much but it couldn't have been too high cuz I'm cheap. Scion kid tells me it's a smart tv but I ain't so don't really know what that means. No problems so far.

I have a smart TV and a Roku on another. I prefer the Roku. There are more channels available and it's updated occasionally. My smart TV doesn't seem to update and channel selection is limited.

Thanks Auggie, That answered my main question, Already have Roku so no sense paying extra for a smart tv or one with roku built in. I looked at a whole wall of TVs at walmart last night and tried to tell the difference between 1080P and 2160P and they all looked the same to me. Lunk, I do have prime but walmart is so much handier incase I need to return for warranty.

If anyone has midco check out the tivos with tivo minis. Can watch recordings from any room with a mini and can watch online streaming from each room for Netflix/Hulu etc.

I'll also be in the market for a new big screen but I think 50" will be plenty and will see how much a guy can save at thanksgiving.

I have had backlight outage on 2 Samsung sets in the last 4 years. Most recent was a smart unit, I like it's functionality and am still using it with the backlight to max and brighter color palette, looks ok in darker room. Most recent purchase was insignia smart set which is on greater than 8 hours a day and working flawlessly for 3 plus years.

a lot of it also depends on what your TV's refresh rate is 60hz, 120hz or 240hz ... the better the quality the better the picture especially from lesser quality sources ... also how will the TV be hooked up ... most likely HDMI but there are other options an optical cable is preferred if available

I jerked the trigger........ I was originally planning to wait and buy online during black Friday sales but the sound is going out on the old insignia and it's too small to read the text on ruko Plus The Sioux are playing this weekend and I can't wait another month to watch them on a big screen. We don't want or need anything fancy so for $ 320 it can't hurt us too bad.

I find myself not caring about TV's as much anymore since I watch like 99% of my porn on my phone now.
