Took the dogs for a walk last night and stumbled upon this...hope its a sign of many to come!

And no she didn't find it all on her own unfortunately. It was fairly close to a road so I tossed it in the tall grass along the fence so someone driving by didn't grab it, and on our way back she sniffed it out and carried it around for awhile.

I haven't been out yet. Waiting for warmer weather and some of this dang snow to melt. Hope this means we're getting our spring snow now and not another 2-3 shots come march/april. Happy hunting to those who can make it out already :)

Was just glassing a bigger group (100+), there was still a good amount of bucks with full headgear yet. I'm thinking it may be a few more weeks yet!

With all of the snow and cold weather leave them be !
A deers life is more important than you finding sheds .
They don't need any stress right now .

I would say the stress levels of deer right now is mild. These last few weeks have been less than ideal but they had a extremely mild winter otherwise. If the deer were that stressed none would have antlers anymore. With my observations and a lot of others theres still a lot of deer holding their horns.

Doesn't matter about what you say is mild . At least
in the northern part of the state . We have a lot of
Snow and cold weather yet . Where do you think
the bucks are dropping there antlers ? They aren't
traveling far you can bet . It's in a small area where they
feel safe and have feed . Now you go in there and look for
sheds you think you don't stress them ? Since when are
sheds more important than a deers life .
Too many people have to be the person who gets the most
sheds and the biggest deer to prove they are the man !
I enjoy hunting sheds and deer too , but use common
Sense while doing it .

I live in Nebraska...it was 45-50 degrees the other day when I was out. Then only snow we have left (until right now) was where it had drifted. Had light jacket and a long sleeved shirt on and ended up taking the jacket off! A balmy 6 this morning when I came to work...thats Nebraska for you...

I've seen both mulies and whitetails holding both sides still around the Parshall and Stanley area.

I'm not sure I totally agree that going in and looking for sheds is super detrimental to the deer. If they are in an area where there is food and shelter, and you bump them out for an couple hours, they will most certainly return right after you leave. It really can't be any different than a coyote or something like that bumping them a little.
Now if you are in there all day or multiple days in a row, that might be different.

I watched this bull Friday morn with both. Came back later that afternoon and he had one. So I waited until he dropped both before I went in

Anybody picking up sheds?

seemed like a busy weekend for walking....we found 2, but felt like it could've been 30 or more easily. We were not the first ones in the spots we wanted to walk. One spot even had ATV tracks where its illegal to drive off road vehicles.
Super frustrating to get in and then find boot tracks. Oh well, as it goes with public land.

When we started shed hunting we were for the most part all by ourselves.
Then others got involved and lungdeflator, as you stated, there are a bunch now out there.

Went out some this past weekend and still to much snow up here. Son has about 20 but those were in the food plots.
So for the last seven or so years we go to northern Canada and yes we will run into another person but with 1000 and 1000 of acres we have a great 10 days by ourselves. Hopefully by mid April the snow will be gone up there. db

This is probably my #1 hitlister as of now. Too bad he broke off his G2. The other G2 is 12 1/8”.

I dont usually like to post pics of sheds or trail cam pics until deer is dead but I like these pics. Ha

I can't hunt my best place to look for sheds as the landowner hunts it with family, so I don't mind posting pictures of the sheds...:) They don't look for sheds so they let the kids and I go out which we appreciate. Good exercise for a middle aged fat guy...
