Who has gone and who is planning on going?

We are heading up Feb. 15-19. We did 2 trips last year mid Feb and late March and both times we were fishing damn near the same spots and catching just as many numbers and just as many big ones. Weather in Feb is more hit or miss, but should still be a good time. Planning on bringing the wheelhouse up again and hopefully getting a couple miles out on the lake and getting the rattle reels out at night. Who knows, maybe the wheelhouse will land on the spot and we will never have to leave the house haha.

I just spent last week up there. Moving around was the key! 4 masters were caught during the week. 3 29 1/2 inchers and 1 31 1/2 incher was caught. The first half of the week was on our own, then the 2nd part was guided. You can stay put if you want but HIGHLY recommend you stay mobile. One day we caught 18 greenbacks 25 inches or bigger. Ill post a few. Spoons and Lipless cranks worked best.

Just got back this morning. 3 of us for 3 days. Cold front and bad moon so bite wasn't as good as last weekend. But we still caught 20-30 a day. 29 and 31.5 we're the biggest. We don't move around much, 2-4 times max. Ice is rough and crappy with sand and extension almost maxxed deep so blades don't fare very well. We had friends that moved around like nuts and we caught as many and some days more than them. Anything that rattles allot tipped with minnows really. Saw a tracked up Escalade out there that was kinda crazy. Just keep up on the condition of the ice to figure out if tracks or wheels are best. Good luck! Dirty Mikes lures kick ass up there!

Did you guys notice any colors doing better?
Whatever color you choose, just make sure it’s an original by the original artist and not some cheap knockoff. I hear the original Snootie Patootie by DH Customs is a Winnipeg must have.

So far it's been a good trip. Really have stopped getting numbers and the fish we mark and catch have been big ones. With a couple days to go my buddy and I are sitting with 13 over 27 inches with 30 being the biggest. Have defintely left some lose change out there too. Have lost a half dozen very heavy fish.

Been up here 5 days only able to fish 3 days. Was a hurricane up here and very dangerous for the two days we couldn't really fish. We made it out to the lake for about an hour the one day and realized it was just best we got off the lake and then one day we goofed around on the red for a few hours and caught as many small saucers as a guy would want to catch. Also got plenty of beer drinking time in. That reminds me we are out of beer.....

Heading back up Feb 21-25. We already did a trip in early Jan with mixed results. We didnt land on the big fish but caught plenty to keep us busy after the first day. It was definitely tougher for us than our Feb trip last year. Trying out a guide for 2 days this next trip to learn a little bit of the lake.
