Well we're back from Slave lake, it was a fun adventure but unfortunately we didn't get a chance at a wolf.
They were around right up to the day we got there, tracks all over. But it snowed over 2 foot and they went from hitting the baits to easily killing deer.
It was pretty cold, had problems using anything with propane. But we were lucky to have a wood burner in the snowmobile trailer.
Tried calling also but to no avail. Made for long 10 hr a day sits. But the walks in and out were refreshing.
Here are a couple pics I took with my phone, nothing fancy. Hope to do it again sometime soon!
The super moon on the 31st helped setting up camp.
Chilly first morning.
My view from my blind
Wolf medicine, decided to just take a 7 mag
The Skandic is a hell of a machine.
The walk in
Wolves don't just kill the weak.. this buck was on camera and was big and looked healthy. Crying shame.
Lots of beutiful sunsets.
Breakfast time, pretty comfy!
The thrown was quite comfortable even when it was -30s
Just don't forget to cover them with sawdust! Ha ha
What the classic wolf pose looks like when you don't get them! Ha ha
Gotta love Canadian gals with a sense of humor!
Alberta sunrise headed south with the Corb Lund cranked up!
