I was fishing on the Missouri River and caught this. I said it was a quillback sucker. It was the biggest that I have seen, 24 inches. I took a picture and released it. Back at the dock, we got stopped by the game warden checking for licenses. I asked him to identify it. He laughed and said it was a common carp. So did another passerby who was fishing. Who's the dumbass?

Yep, I would agree we were both dumbasses. It's a river carpsucker. I should have know that. Mine was pretty big I believe. A number of other states who keep records on this show that the state records were around 24 inches. Should have had it mounted. lol

I'm told a river carpsucker. Mine (couple years ago) was probably close to that size too. I hooked it by the dorsal fin, and brought it in (shorefishing) in current. Put up a tussle.

any walleyes ?

Nope. Water conditions sucked but a few boats were catching some right off the dock at the rifle range. Even heard from somebody who heard from somebody that a limit was caught.
