So I'm heading back up to the area again in a couple of weeks. Wondering what a guy has to do to hook into a few this late in the year from shore. Will throwing jigs and plastics still work like it did earlier this year?

They definitely will. No guarantee, but I saw a guy with a stringer full fishing off of the dock.

I'd happily take you out, but I generally have a boat full of kids.

Hey thanks guys for the offer. I would love it but I am only looking for something to do for a couple hours in the evening. Beats sitting in a hotel room. I enjoy walking the shore line and casting. I would live to take my boat up there (sounds like you guys have 'er made up there) but the state doesn't allow me to pull things behind their vehicles. Lol

are you looking specifically for walleyes or would some catfish do? i do know the shorefishing off vanhook i believe to the east of the beach kids have been shore fishing and just slamming cats, some smallies, drum, occasional walleyes mixed in.

correction both to the east and west of the beach. had the wife text one of her younger cousins who has been doing it

Was up by white earth bay for lunch. As I sat there the water began to boil and the gulls went nuts. So I grabbed my rod quick and cast out in the middle of it and the jig hardly hit the water and the fight was on. Did this over and over again for about 5 to 10 minutes. Hit right in the middle of a feeding frenzy. #$%^&>
