For those of you who have been around a few decades remember one of the funniest and greatest comedians of all time was Tim Conway doing skits on the Carol Burnett Show. Tragically, the news coming out of the Los Angeles area is that Mr. Conway has been suffering in late stage dementia and is reportedly unresponsive. He is one of the GREATEST! One of my favorite skits was "The Dentist": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nF_C3bO8WZ0

Dementia or Alzheimer's is such a horrible disease where family members basically loose your loved ones twice. For me personally, I lost my father to Alzheimer's a little over a year and a half. When he retired down in Arizona, my parents would spend the summer up in North Dakota at their trailer at Deepwater Bay. My dad would fish almost every day. Then he started showing signs of being forgetful, lost interest in fishing. Mother took care of him the best she could for 4-5 years after diagnosed, but spent the last 2 years in memory care center. He succumb to the disease in January of 2017.

I sure feel truly blessed to have grown up watching and laughing at Tim's work over the years. His legacy will definitely live on for years once he passes. His way of life and laughter is something that we should all imitate, for his humor and humble humility was quite impressive.

Sorry to hear about your dad, Paddle. Alzheimer’s/dementia is tough stuff. Tim Conway was one of the funniest actors ever!!!!! He didn’t even have to say a word and I’d still damn near piss myself laughing.

Tim Conway (and Harvey Korman, and Dick Van Dyke especially), Vicki Lawrence, and the rest of the gang were wonderful. Imagine, 3/4 of America tuned in, laughing their guts out, and not a f-bomb was spoken.

Granted, nearly all of the dads, and a lot of the moms probably had a highball and ashtray in front of them.

A really bad disease. The good news is that there’s lots of research being done on it. Functional MRI’s and neurophysiological research and research Imdont understand have shown that it starts much earlier than suspectd in the past, and slowly people get more and more wacky (for lack of a better word, I’m sorry) and finally with progression of the disease are diagnosed. Not that it matters, because so far all pharmacological treatments have been found to be ineffective.
For all of our sakes, I hope some bright guy or gal makes a breakthrough.

Archie and Sanford were more satirical racist than racist though. In a way they could be better described as satirical anti racist, but they had to use racism events and issues to make us all laugh about our own personal innate racism, and make us think. I sure did while laughing at Archie, Edith and meat head.
Now with a few exceptions TV seems now weirdness, violence or close to soft porn of people screwing, sometimes even married, usually to someone else, and comedians using the F word four times a sentence! Our kids watch that since they were pushed out of the womg
b. We wonder why are kids are doing the dirty, programmed from day 1.

He was without a doubt one of the best in the business. He could make you laugh without saying a word. And I still laugh just thinking about some of the skits. R.I.P. Tim and thanks for all the great moments and memories.
