I can chime in about Lyme’s disease. Was treated for it a few years ago. I was bit by a deer tick in Northern MN (in OCTOBER for crying out loud) and had the tell tale ring around the bite. Went in right away and they put me on the preventative antibiotics. The disease takes about 6 months to develop if you don’t get treated right away so better to be safe than sorry.

I’m more worried about the lone star tick working it’s way north and contracting that red meat allergy. That would not be a life worth living.

I actually know a gentleman from Arkansas who was bitten by this tick. We states that consuming any red meat puts him into anafalactic shock. Says it will even happen if his chicken is cooked on a grill that was used for red meat.

I'm pretty sure I have immunity for almost any ticks by now.

Or is it like bees... at some point your body revolts and BOOM - you're suddenly sensitive?

I did have a classic bullseye rash and a week long fever and hallucinations in 5th grade - got bit while frog gigging at night on a bayou in Louisiana. True story.

Parents were too dumb to take me to the doctor.

Might explain quite a bit actually.

No, you were right the first time. Minnesota is a POS fugging neighbor who spends a small country's fortune suing ND for everything from ND nonresident waterfowl laws to ND supplying drinking water to its residents.

Yeah, MN can kiss my ass.

permethrin is absolutely the most effective option for humans and clothing in my opinion.

Hands down. If you treat all your clothes (even socks and shoes) and gear. You really will be surprised as to how well it works. I use it religiously now.
