Doesn't surprise me, we have around 50-75% less deer in our area of the state "SW" from just three years ago..stupid.

I obviously don't travel the entire state. In my part of the state, north central, I'm seeing more deer over the winter than I have for the past several years. Compared to the SE part of ND we have had less snow and actually not that bad of winters the past couple years. Surprisingly I have seen more pheasants this winter than the past several as well. Hopefully this continues and we have easier winters the next few.

I won’t make too big of deal of it until I see unit by unit numbers but guessing there is some areas where there could be more tags I just hope most are buck tags . Shouldn’t be taking many if any doe’s when we are trying to build population. In my area we have more deer than we did ten years ago but lots of that has to do with loss of habitat. I have river bottom land and there’s no trees left away from the river anymore so naturally all the deer moved to the river .

Ummmm wtf?
yeh I just about fell of the chair reading that too ..... huh ? Why in the f are there mule deer doe tags in ND ? Makes no sense unless population goes crazy . They want to reach 75,000 tags by next year , so guessing this year will jump from 55k to about 62k and next year to about 70-75 k

That’s code for we need the money. And mule deer country has the most public land which would reflect the expectation no trespass law was going to pass
