How many of you keep tools on the boat, and what do you bring?

I keep a couple of screwdrivers, a crescent wrench, and a couple pairs of pliers, along with some wire, and tape.

When setting up the new boat, I almost said to myself, "it's a new boat, why would I need these?" Then told myself, "it's a new boat, you better bring these!"

Luckily I did, as my 4 bank charger was junk, and trying to stow an Ulterra on dead batteries is impossible without tearing it apart a bit.

All you listed plus a set of jumper cables long enough to reach all batteries.

I have the same basic hand tools and you do, but I also keep spare trolling motor props and a set of jumper cables that will reach from my trolling batteries to my starting battery.

Nice first aid kit and a good side cutter are helpful as well. If you see a deal on a tool kit, get one for the boat.

I built my own first aid kit and tool box. Also jumper cables are old school. Get one of them newfangled 12 volt power packs. Just remember to keep it charged up.

Good pair of wire cutters, you never know when someone is going to get a hook in the ear or finger. Dont ask me how I know.

make sure you store them in a heavy duty plastic bag of some sort. even if they are in a tool kit box. They will still rust like crazy

I've got a small driver/bit kit with bits for screws, Allen-heads, torx-heads, etc. BIG side cutters, band-aides, gauze pads, iodine, split-ring pliers, several small hemostats, multiple small sharp knives/scissors, multiple needle-nose pliers, fuses, zip-ties, wire-stripper, 2-cassette pumps with butt-connectors already on the pump pigtails that could be hooked up in under 3min, jumper cables.

I keep a lot of this stuff in gasket-sealed waterproof plano boxes that are double or triple deep 3700 size.

Running down the batteries to nothing shortens the life imo. My brother went through the same thing on a dealer installed charger --- i am like seriously. Mine was used for a couple hours for pictures -- transducer didnt work and the radio both brand new probably never turned on. Radio should of been caught by the dealer - - transducer i suppose.

All good items above. When I travel I also throw a Rubbermaid tub in the back of my truck that contains:

1. Small 1-ton floor jack
2. 4-way lug nut wrench
3. Spare pre-packed hub with bearings kit
4. Grease gun & tub of grease

Other things to consider:

1. Floating prop wrench (don't buy a cheap one)
2. Spare cotter pins / hairpin cotter pins
3. Wire nuts
4. Various crimp-on 12v connectors

Oh...and zip-ties!
