Actually have seen this before , one spring while shed hunting my son was walking a fence line and I was walking a tree row heard this goose honking and putting up a fuss couldn't see it then the damned thing swooped out of a tree and dove at the kid, I guess niether one of us thought to look up in a tree for a goose, thinking the boy had got to close to a nest in the CRP

Have seen it once or twice on the river north of Bismarck. Also saw a pair land on an apartment building in the NW suburbs of mpls.

they are clearly evolving into eagle-type meat-eater raptors or the like

things are about to get interesting

They occasionally like to hang out on the roof of my office building. It’s cool when you’re on the 2nd floor looking out the window and suddenly a goose swoops down in front of your face. Kinda scares the crap out of you. Also neat to watch them fly in.
