I must be suffering from extreme debate fatigue when it comes to hunting trespass, deer apps, trophy hunting, baiting, etc.

I'm pretty much bored to tears of the endless debate with no clear consensus.

Chicken is a million times better than pheasant and way cheaper. You can buy super lean bison, or even beef for that matter much cheaper per pound than deer hunting. It’s ok to admit it’s pretty fun to hunt and kill stuff. Meat is a nice bonus. My favorite is experimenting with different wild game cuts

That may be true in some cases, even most cases maybe.... But it is definitely not always true that you can buy bison or beef for much cheaper per pound than deer hunting. A deer tag costs $30.

Just to note, I agree. its fun to hunt and kill stuff! :;:rockit

truck $60000.00
rifle $1000.00
optics $1000.00
gear/clothes 3000.00
deer tag 30.00

total = 65030.00

over 5 years lets say 65030/5=13006.00

then you get 120 pounds of deer 13006.00/120= $108.38 per pound

i have tried to justify it also that its cheaper but if i honestly look at it there is no way.

I am absolutely addicted to elk hunting in the mountains and when i get it done there that will be 500 dollars a pound and will be worth every cent

The pickup is used outside of the hunt, I would back that out of the equation

One step closer to the end.
You looking for a pat on the back or a cookie?

Side note, I like oreos.

"Trophy" is just a word people use to elevate themselves or belittle others. Nothing more.

When I say trophy wife, I am not elevating myself or belittling others.

It is pure envy. Through and through. #$%^&>

Good point. Plus $250,000 for the house or garage that you use to process the deer.
We all know only a $2,000 rifle setup can kill deer. anything less than that is simply foolish and the deer laugh as you chase them with your inferior weapons.

add in gas, boots, food/gas station snacks/ packs/ ammunition/ processing opens another whole can of worms. Hunting is not economically cheaper than buying the meat. It is a hell of a lot funner and way more rewarding
