I was at the cleaning station two days ago "June 26th" and a guy there said he saw 40 degree water on the north shore of sakakawea. I thought bullcrap there is no way.
Well yesterday I pulled in there and this is what I saw, is this even possible?
Can the deep water to the east of the Beulah area flip and blow in to cause this in late June?
I went a Couple miles west right after that and it was 66.
On a side note my son caught a salmon when we were there
In 20 some feet.

Yep, convective currents caused by different water temps. This is probably an extreme example of it, but it really is just the lake mixing water from some nearby deep/cold area with what is probably water temps in the low 60s at the surface elsewhere.

p.s. so that's the ticket to finding salmon this time of year, ehh? Just drive around until you find some cold water and let'r rip.
