I picked up a carryover Lund Impact 1775 w/ Mercury 115 Pro XS. I really like the boat it handles waves like a champ for a 1775 but the dealer definitely rigged it with the wrong prop. It currently has a Merc Spitfire 4 blade 12.5" 19pitch but according to the prop selector program on mercury's site I should be running a 13-13.5" 17pitch prop. Anybody out there with experience have any prop suggestions as far as best performance vs cost?

I am an idiot when it comes to props. I just bought a boat and had a prop not even close to right on it. I was lead in the direction of prop works in mandan. I told him what kind of boat i had and what horsepower. All it took was 1 phone call and i had the right prop in 2 business days. But remember I am also not the kind of guy that is going to test 8 props to see which one works best. This one was so much better as far as top end speed and hole shot I didn't need to waste my time. I would give them a try.

What RPM @ WOT? What's it not doing well that you want to improve upon?

You could easily shed a blade and at least 2 degrees of pitch. Max RPM is 6300 for that motor. If you can "try before you buy" I'd look for a 15-16 pitch SS w/more diameter.

So no advantage to a 4 blade???

If you're pulling tubes/boards/skiers etc. the 4 might be an advantage. It'll generally improve holeshot, cornering, tracking on plane w/sidewind/current, and might allow you to stay on plane at a lower speed. All of the improvements generally come at the cost of lower top speed.

Any brand/ model suggestions?

I think I might just pitch down and stay with aluminum

Unless you are a performance Nazi, you won’t notice a lot on a 115. I’ve found the prop that performs best for the printed test data is usually too much prop for a guy that has a bunch of crap stored in his boat along with extra people.

I'm guessing I'm slightly on the heavy side for gear... all the kids add up to about one large guy weight wise but add all the extra snacks drinks ice and coolers and whammy loaded heavy lol

I have a 2019 Mercury 90hp and the stock prop was a Spitfire 4 blade 13x17P. Boat weighs 1320lbs, 22 gallons of fuel, and usually only 2 people at most in the boat. I'd prefer to stay with aluminum for the time being and budget, but curious what I should be running. I don't pull any tubers or anything like that. Fishing boat 90% of the time and casual idle boat ride the remaining time. Any suggestions?
