      iCast 2019

Anyone been tuned into the new products being debuted down at iCast 2019? It looks like Salmo and Phantom came out with a new vertical crank. Also I am intrigued about this new Garmin trolling motor that just come out.

      Anyone else see anything cool?

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

Lowrance and Garmin out with trolling motors in the same year??

Well I, for one, and happy for a bit more competition and options on the trolling motor front. Might make the old dogs a bit more accountable when it comes to quality and robustness.

How is long does a guy wait for royalty checks?

I got to paint the first batch off the production line. They produced some piggies up at Winnipeg.

Pretty soon a guy will have the option to wear a brain helmet and think what to do. Just fork over 20-30k for the pro fisherman brain package.

The same way bowhunters shot deer off a trail to and fro a feeding source or bedding area, rifle hunters jumped deer from tree rows, sloughs, and crp, waterfowl hunters scouted at night by sound and were 10 yards away from an insane amount of birds before dawn or belly crawled over a hill of feeding birds unloading his scatter gun like a madman, and a guy went to a bar looking to get lucky without all these preconceived hook up apps. Man, tech is crazy and the old school ways are still pretty damn neat..

It's about time someone got a brushless motor into a trolling motor...that being said, they really know what they want for them. The Lowrance unit has user-interchangeable transducers, so that's pretty neat too. One of the 2 (I think it was Lowrance) was claiming almost 100ft-lbs of thrust on a 24v system. They both also have switches to go between 24v and 36v, so you'd think the price would come down as they improve manufacturing being they don't need to carry the same models in both 24v and 36v.

Motorguide has a new one out too, kinda cool I guess if you're into cable motors. Its a true cable steer but with pinpoint gps.

I was down in Orlando over the weekend @ the Lowrance tech school for the new Ghost. The Ghost is legit. We did a lake test as well & I was impressed with the functions it has. They are expensive but with a brush less system thats were alot of the expense comes from. You can swap out the HDI transducer for the 3-in-1 to have all you need without opening the lower case; so that's handy if you have transducer issues. It has the Point 1 gps built in & Nema connections for connecting graphs. More shaft lengths in the future plus a terrova ulterra hybrid for us deep v boat folks also coming soon.
