6 year old son caught a tagged male sauger 18" around 4 bears may 15th, it was tagged from the yellowsatone near sidney MT april 10th of this year.
spoke with the FNP biologist out there and he said this is actually very common for these saugers to spawn out there and return to the lake for the remainder of the year

- - - Updated - - -

it was the yellow dorsal tag not the jaw tag.

There was a team in the cup that caught 2 tagged fish in one day. I’ve never caught one on Sak yet, got a few on Audubon.

tageye.jpgI caught a 24" in the Governor's Cup. Went on the G&F website and entered it but I haven't gotten any info about where it was tagged.

Damn, that's a big male! I bet 99% of the C&R people would have patted themselves on the back for releasing a large female.

And before I get too damn judgmental, I kept a livewell full of "males" this spring, all about 14-16 inches. Only to find out about 80% were actually females once I put the knife to them. Derp...

Not my fish but a few years ago I was sitting out on the top of my boathouse at Metigoshe in the evening watching a guy out in front of my neighbors cabin casting. I saw him take a few fish. I hollered "What are you catching?" and he replied that he had caught 3 tagged walleyes in 30 minutes. Never have I ever seen a tagged fish on Metigoshe. I know the NDG&F stocks the lake, so some are probably tagged.
