my Grandma hated amphibs and snakes

poured salt on them to kill them

Made me sick. Only angry or cruel thing I ever saw her do.

Chorus frogs, leopard frogs, and great plains toads. Ya chill out dude are they really harming anything? I kill on the regular but find no need to kill frogs or toads for no reason.

I don't think some of you fully understand the situation. We are not talking about an odd toad jumping around here and there. I left them alone at first too...Now I can't leave my garage doors open very long or I will have 50 of them in there. They dug a crack out into some concrete that looks like a gopher mound. I'm sure thats good for my driveway, when I have a thousand of them hibernating underneath it.

I think the logical thing to do here is order a flamethrower.

You finally have the excuse you were looking for to order that flame thrower. I planted a couple trees in my yard that I know will be problematic so that I will later have an excuse for a chainsaw and dynamite. (I’m playing the long game on this one. The ATF won’t suspect a thing.)

Seems to me that nothing is going haywire. In fact, it looks like things are going exactly as planned for our flame-throwing friend.

1) No one should ever need an excuse for a chainsaw. That's just something that every human needs, like socks. All three of my girls each have their own chainsaws.

2) Walleyes eat frogs. And when the frog population is up, the eyes are fat. I've seen it even in the Missouri river.

3) I'm not aware of anything that eats toads. I've even seen bull snakes bite them, and let go. For sure cats and dogs won't kill them. Or at least not more than one.

If your new pup is foaming at the mouth and puking he has discovered his first toad and will never go near one again.

I haven't run across any toads outside of Lincoln, but I've seen a few in town itself.

Frogs though, they are aplenty at my place. The funny part is just how far I'm seeing them away from the pond. They're way out in the tall grass where I have only rarely run into them before.

I just thought it was interesting- and posted the source so it couldn’t be mistaken as my own factoids.

Who’s going to be the first in this thread to lick a toad now? Why bother even posing the question. Guywhodoesn’tneedtobeasked has it covered already, I’m sure.

How many millennials do we have around here to do the #toadlickchallenge?
