[FONT=&quot]FARGO — North Dakota State ranks among the top 10 college football programs in the country over the past 150 years, according to rankings compiled by ESPN's Stats and Information Group.

The Bison were ranked No. 10 on the top 50 list with a 63.6 rating for a program that has won 15 national championships. Alabama, with a 74.9 rating, was ranked first on the list that was published Thursday, Aug. 15. Alabama has won 15 national championships.

"To be considered in the top 10 is pretty rare air and something that we are humbled by," NDSU athletic director Matt Larsen said. "It's an honor for us to be included with those programs."

Notre Dame (72.9), Ohio State (69.6), Oklahoma (68.5) and Southern California (67.25) rounded out the top 5 behind Alabama. Michigan, Nebraska and Texas were other heavyweight programs ranked ahead of NDSU

I’m an ndsu fan and don’t claim to know much about college football. I think including ndsu on that list is pretty absurd to me though.

Hah hah hah, Yale is ranked above them.

For one thing this list goes back 150 years. If you read the ESPN article:

https://www.espn.com/college-footba...e-50-best-college-football-programs-150-years

Yale was a powerhouse for the first 50 years of college football.

As to NDSU, they are listed because of their dominance over Division II opponents for 25 years starting in 1965 and then over opponents in the FCS (Division I-AA) for the last 10 years.

This also from a UND "Fighting SIOUX" forever fan! I recognize excellence when I see it.

what amazes me is that the douchebags at ESPN didn’t adjust the method to exclude NDSU on the basis of skin color

Enjoy it while you can. They will soon have to change the name because it’ll be considered racist due to the relationship natives had with the bison.
