Has anyone had any luck south of beach? I drew my tag this year for that unit and can hardly wait to get out there.

Thanks.

Just south of Canada eh
I drew that tag last year. I went out with the bow in September and focused mainly east closer to rough country...only saw 1 decent buck. Went back for rifle season and found 4 good shooters south of Beach...15 minutes into the season 3 of the 4 were already dead so I settled for the 4th one. I'm sure there's still some decent bucks around but after seeing what happened last year i'm glad I drew when I did. Check with the guy that runs the Legion in Beach...can't remember his name but he gave me some good tips on landowners and where to go.

I scouted/bowhunted in 3B, just East of you for 1.5 days a week ago and was disappointed. Found 5-6 herd bucks, but nothing over 73ish. Not many antelope either for 115 bucks given out in that unit. They have to be somewhere, so going to put in some real hard work before settling on one.

I’m posting this here so that when I blow the shot, you guys will know it was 100% shooter error and I can eat my shame for a couple decades. No pressure.

Oh, and it’s a Barrett Fieldcraft, chambered in 6.5 manbun.

I’m going to have to ask you to return your weapon. You don’t have the hair length to support a firearm like that.

Had a tag also last year..different unit.
Pretty much all of the big mature bucks we were after during archery season were killed with rifle before rifle season, it was a lawless joke. But if you've been looking at them and feeding them for 10 years while there wasn't a season I guess anything goes when you finally do get that gratis tag...

Absolutely, myself and two other friends had the exact same stories. All on big B&C class bucks.

Hope you called the warden and the sheriff if you know this for a fact

Going to be a muddy mucky weekend for the antelope opener. Rained all day yesterday and it's suppose to rain tomorrow and next weekend too. Won't be able to travel many section line roads without ripping them up.

It's been a while since I've had antelope, my dad used to make a roast that was delicious. Hopefully I'll draw a tag in a few years.

Higher def photo with exit wound. Hit him in the shoulder quartering towards me at 130 yds. went maybe 20 yds and tipped. 143gr Hornady ELD-X. Not big, 12”, but I’ll take it.

Entry n exit. Not a perfect shot, but the best I could do with the does milling around and about to take off.
