Can anyone win a tourney without the keyboard thumpers right away saying they cheated. Some people actually do know how to fish. Take lessons on the fishing instead of bashing. You might catch something too. If you know for a fact they cheated, show pics of it or stfu. Just saying

I don’t believe creek chubs are illegal bait. Therefore I don’t believe that is cheating.

I took the kennel comment as an attempt at humor. Now the culling comment seems to suggest cheating.

I wasn’t there so I say Congrats to the winners!

Like I stated, it was second hand news and everyone knows how fishermen talk...but with that said I have heard of people -- again, second hand -- who sell/supply them in Devils Lake, Minot, and Williston -- just because one walks in a bait shop -- and you do not see them -- does not mean they aren't being sold to some anglers! Most tell me they catch their own -- never tried to catch them. Any of the major river systems in North Dakota have them found in their tributaries. The one thing I hope is not happening is that they are being brought in from out of state.

What if I'm trapping them in a SD stream just miles up a creek from OAHE?

So who is the bait vendor selling chubs?? I heard rumor G&f was going to be making new rules next year that you must have receipt of proof of bait bought besides fatheads??

I catch my own. I live right on OAHE. I take ND Creek Chubs into SD and I've taken SD creek chubs into ND. The streams all dump into the Mighty Mo. though so if I'm breaking any laws I really don't give a rats azz.

If by careful you mean I'll trap them as I always have, and use them in the river where I want, Then ya I'm careful. I actually don't use them that much. Usually in the spring, or fall, but in the fall I don't go fishing as much. I don't get my traps set as much as in my younger days, and haven't trapped in SD for a few years.

Yeah you are breaking the law, just like I would be if I drove one mile from the Mo. to my house before i drain the livewell that just ends up right back in the Mo. anyways. G&F loves to harp on and fine a guy for this piddly crap, but wont do anything actually meaningful like check boats coming into ND from the east.

Is he breaking the law? Yes. Is he hurting anything in this scenario? No.
