I was one of them SOBs...was fishing along the embankment on the Audubon side Tuesday afternoon...might have been the nicest day of the year!

Trust me when I say i was WAAAAYYYYYYYY jealous of each boat sitting out there (even the ones that hadn't caught a fish, lol), it looked like an awesome day to be on the water, especially with what was foretasted and what we have now! not sure what the he!! I'm thinking going north to fish open water at this point in the season, lol.

About 10 years ago we found a spot where we limited easy on 18-23 inch fish in late October. We hit it two or 3 more times in November. After our last outing, my brother was ice fishing it 10 days later. There's also some great fishing around Mobridge this time of year. In fact, this weekend and next (Pheasant opener in both ND n SD) I've had some great fall fishing. This FN weather though!;:;banghead

I'm gonna try the river next weekend if the weather holds up. If anyone wants to tag along get ahold of me!

Velveeta.... minus the ET
My rainy river trip went good.... caught 20 to 100 fish a day depending on the day and the weather... fished the lake and the river, one day we fished the lake and on way back to the dock we found ourselves in 6 to 7ft waves.... man what day that was.. caught allot of fish at knights and bridges though. Fished the river couple days with the worst weather being 20 to 30mph wind with 40 gust, that day we only caught 20 fish. Next worse was 35 deg and rained all day pretty much.... best was 10-15mph wind and 50 deg temp.... caught eaters and some nice ones also some bonus perch on the lake69076.jpg20191024_140144.jpg20191024_145114.jpg.... big fish was couple 26", 27,28 and 29".... overall it was a fun trip and the boat is still ready to go for some more walleye action69227.jpg20191021_110713.jpg68954.jpg

Coldest nastiest weather anyone has ever boat fished in? Oddly enough mine came late August 2 years ago. Got out on the lake in the morning...cool windy and rainy but I was determined to stick it out. I was not dressed properly for 40 degrees wind and rain. Starting catching fish...didn't want to head back to the dock. After another 2 hours I couldn't feel my fingers anymore. By the time I got in the truck and had the boat loaded felt like frost bite...without the frost. Since that day, try to avoid boat fishing when temps gonna flirt with 32 degrees!

Gotta love when your trolling motor freezes up so you can't use it, just take a bucket of water and dump on it. Fishing line all ice meh nobody thinks anything of it until they are in a boat and not on the ice. Best one I did though was drive by a bunch of people ice fishing than two miles away slip the boat in and bounce off icebergs like the Titanic for a few hours just for a couple of pike and some good eaters. That was the day before Christmas if I remember right

I hate the thought of putting the boat away for the season and having to go thru all the ice gear...but looking at temps for the next 10 days...reality!
