LINTON, N.D. - Here's something you don't see every day!
Whitetail.jpg

While scouting near Linton this weekend for the upcoming deer season, brothers Josstyn and Jayden Richter freed a buck whose antlers were entwined with another buck's.
The pair spotted him with his head down and thought he was eating -- but he didn't pop up.
They got closer and noticed it was hooked to a deceased buck.
They were able to wrestle the live deer to the ground and untangle the two, allowing it to bound away.

That's cool and good on those guys, hope they get a crack at him during rifle season after he's spread his genes, he was a nice one!

I would say to carry a reciprocating saw with you at all times, but that's not practical for most. I like to see this kind of stuff. It's even cooler when they free elk.

Not sure I want to be sitting on a big bull when he gets loose. Might be the ultimate rodeo. Those horns can reach a long way back. Good of these 2 young guys doing a service to the deer.
