Can't recall the last time a rancher advertised his Angus bull as a " trophy whitetail hunt "

pay thirty grand and you can call it what ever you want. Property is property any way you want to label it.

do we know for sure the deer was in the fence?

Either it was in the fence while still alive, or the guy tossed a headless deer corpse over a game fence just to mess with the owner.

I wish "hunters" wouldn't take the bait on this and would refrain from labeling him a "poacher". This wasn't poaching, because it wasn't hunting, because that white-tailed deer wasn't a big-game animal.

Sometimes hunters are our own worst enemy.

Well good for them if the Supreme Court ruled in their favor. If they ruled in their favor it must mean natives were right and had those hunting rights this whole time. Don’t forget to hide your racist ass remarks pal. Again, not all natives do that shit. So quit holding onto your “60 years” bullshit and get over it. It’s in federal law and there’s nothing you or anyone can do to change it.

That's not exactly true. Federal laws are changed/amended nearly every day. One can write letters or meet in person with their congressional delegation to ask for/demand change. One can vote in new Representatives/Senators if they're not happy with the one's currently in place. Lastly, one can run and be elected themselves if they want to effect change.

I would more than likely agree with you on all of that SD but it’s a treaty.

And doing what’s right? Upholding a treaty isn’t right? Blows my mind you think that upholding your end of an agreement isn’t the right thing to do.

listen, when it comes to our natual resource and effecting parties are harvesting just because they can based on a 200yr old treaty to survive is one thing but this in your face bullshit ain;t right our ojibwe tribes here in Mn have been havesting and passing on tradition my entire life on this earth "No problem" but when we have 6 other tribes coming here to pilage then dump what harvest on public road ways is wrong as is havesting when said resource is in jepordy(walleyes in our case) do they need 70 tons of walleye every spring to feed themselves?it took 10yrs for gill netters to kill our once pristine walleye lake to a giant bowl of water with few walleyes infact no non native fishermen can keep any eyes but keep letting natives to gill net spawning grounds Fuck no they don't,most that do this have $50k boats $60k trucks live a rich man's life... fact is they (natives) don't give a shit and far it being to them to do the right thing..fuck me...

more our minnesota moose population is in jeapordy, has been for years once a lifetime draw now none,we'll one tribe from wisc declared a moose harvest in northeast minn plan on taking 25 critters total bullshit"Why" because the/your treaty says you can never mind your double standard life style collect big cash from the feds and casino's living in million dollar homes it ain't right when it effects our resource for future generations, its not what you can do because a treaty says you can but when you see the effects of what your doing is dentermental to our resource its time to look in the mirror,to late for us here but this issue is national all over the country and canada.

It's a little stickier than that. It's often referred to as Federal law because by policy (?), treaties are the law of the land. The U.S. has backed out of and not upheld it's end of treaties on a pretty good number of occasions (just ask your friendly Indian neighbors), but it's not something either the Representative or Administrative branches of the govt are likely to do in today's political climate. No matter how good we non-native hunters and anglers think it would be for the resource.

agreed Allen been down that road, actually had a younger senator travel with me a few years ago around mille lacs lake where I grew up all the resorts and mom n pop reasturants shut down due to no walleye fishing which was a booming business for many years had many ojib friends as I lived near the rez border, most that I knew moved to mpls these days, live a tuff life, some homeless sad to see but drugs and alcohol did the damage, our leech lake tribe is prospering with new casino's alot of natives in the city are moving to this area of leech lake taking jobs at these two casino's and building houses around the lake, good to see. Our non natives don't want another court battle(yet) but the storm is brewing,so far the treaty has been up held even tho excersing they're right/harvest is wrong these days using state of the state of the art equipment,,wasting or commercially selling harvested walleye/deer(illegaly) harvest rights donot include selling for profit but trible wardens look the other way in most cases, infact the only folks known to take a hit on illegal walleye sales were non natives! haha what a joke trible judge ruled the white men temped the natives to nett n buy all the walleyes they brought in,one native friend said they paid $3/lb for walleye zero for pike/muskie zero for other species like small mouth bass ,perch etc

word is feds were at his door this morning. If you know those guys they just are not let this slide

- - - Updated - - -

I don’t even know if you can call it elk camping when I only see 2 of the son of a bitches. More like camp freezing. Good thing I have all the public land in Dewey to kill some shit to fill the freezer

no one made shit up it’s right here

Actually what I know about those guys is that they will probably let it slide. They talk and act a big game, but we'll see what happens. The thief that stole thousands from our city gov't doesn't look like he'll be charged. Those FBI guys interviewed the former mayor (40 years) and it looked at first like heads would roll, but now....ehhh

The feds come in and make a big ruckess and get everyone’s attention. Then people quit watching and they sweep it under the rug.

How about we act like we are all Americans, and live as such. Labeling, segregation, and special perks are a bunch of shit. We all use the American resources, American dreams, and America is for all of us.
Indian, negro, white, mexican, whatever the fuck you think you are. If you live in the USA, we are all Americans, I hope we all start acting like it someday.
