i once shot one with my bb gun as a child. regret it to this day. hope he lived. but, it was right in the head. so, i have my doubts.

super curious little fella. twas his downfall. curiosity literally killed that cat. kept poking his cute little head out of the pile of railroad ties. i couldn't take it anymore and eventually pulled the trigger. i spent years wondering what that little fella was and feeling bad i didn't restrain myself and my powerline 880. then one day about 7 or 8 years later, i was at my buddies place and going through his pile of ranger rick cards or whatever they were called while he played some techmo bowl against my cousin. all of the sudden, there he was. staring right back at me after all of those years. finally figured it out. i had tried to describe it to my dad a few time... like a cross between a big cat and a fox was how i put it... i don't think he ever believed me and assumed i shot someone's cat.
