Deer hides - What to do with them

Have wife chew until soft, then make gloves out of them.

I've had my kids' first deer hides tanned and then given to them as their "trophy", they were does.

Other than that, I donate them to NDGF.

Used to donate them but the group collecting donations has stopped so now they get discarded along with bones in a slough where coyotes will find them. Don't worry, it's land that I own and out of the way where not visible to general public.

What I really do with them is I have a steel post driven into the ground about 150 yards from the house. My 22-250 is zero-ed in to that range. Cut hole in center of hide and slip over post then put deer rib cage over that. Good for a hungry yote or two in the winter.
