Yep, it’s not about the brass case or stamp upon its head. It’s about melding the rifle and ammo/components.

I have a 6.5x284 that pushes a 140gr to 3050 + or -. Now on longrangehunter I find a powder that lets me get a 140gr to 3056 out of a 24 inch barrel Creedmoor. It gets better every day.

which powder I get 2950 with the 143 I will really be happy

Screenshot_20191118-073412.jpg I am going for about 2950 which should give me very long brass life and all the velocity I want. This velocity with low pressures should also extend barrel life.

lol ya having fun with you. It is Reloaded 26. Tough to find. They say like Federal Match primers a year ago, the industry is buying it up. It's like finding gold. I scored two pounds today. I'll post up how it works for me. I have 390 brass once fired, neck turned to .013, neck sized to .286, primed and waiting.

Ok Kurtr this is for you. Last night I loaded up some 140 ELD-M. One with 46gr, one with 47gr, and five with 48gr. I didn't go higher because I wanted to be kind to my brass. Well the 46 gr and my chrono said error. Crap. So I realigned and here are some pics.20191206_104535_001.jpg20191206_104750.jpg20191206_105649.jpg20191206_114048.jpgSetting for 814yd 8 inch steel.20191206_111105.jpg

I have 200 rounds loaded with VLDs and H4350 and maybe 400 rounds loaded with ELD-X. I hate to pull that many bullets and throw away that much powder. I am getting 2875 fps with those loads so I guess I'll just shoot them up. Should be able to empty them by February. It's tough to load the clip with the old loads when the new ones are doing 3035 fps with less pressure.

If someone is thinking about a new rifle and they do their own reloading this powder may make them seriously think 6.5 manb---- no not at 3035fps it's a Creedmoor. :)

If anybody needs H4350, I’ve got an 8lb unopened jug I’ll let go for $175. Was going to reload but I got no time.

PG, Does your wife lock you in the reloading room every night?
No, the lack of anything worth while on tv drive me there often, and my reloading usually can't keep up with my shooting. What got me ahead this year was severe arthritis. I couldn't walk much last winter, then had to recover from both knees replaced. For the last month I have been making up for lost time. I should be able to see muscled in my trigger finger soon. I have 400 rounds of those crappy Lapua 155hr Silver Scenars in 308 loaded, and 300 still to load that I need to burn up. Not wanting to wear the barrel out on my custom I bought that Ruge Predator with the 18 inch barrel. What a surprise. The little sucker shoots .55 inch with 200gr ELD-X.

Switched from scenars to palmas long ago and haven’t looked back.

Just for sake of conversation, I have a 7 SAUM I’d put up against anything. Green gun is my baby, however the 7 is my hammer. It’s so boringly accurate and consistent that it feels like cheating.

My next rifle will be a Ruger PC carbine in 9mm. Its just looks like fun and my back yard shooting is under 100 yards anyway. All my Glock clips will fit. Ammo is cheap and if it is as reliable as its 22 counterparts what the hell might as well have a new toy.

Not where I'd like to be
@PrairieGhost how much 4350 are you using to get 2875fps out of a 24" barrel? That's pretty fast for a 140 class bullet. Seems like you either have an extra fast barrel, or you're living near the upper pressure limit.
For comparison, I get 2850fps out a 26" Benchmark with 41.8gr of H4350 behind a 140 ELDM.

There's no such thing as free lunch.
R26 is not going to be as temperature insensitive as H4350. You might find the rounds you loaded this winter are over-pressure in the summer, and you'd want to run a few over the chrony at the current temp before reaching out past 500 with it.
